Endovasc Ltd. Inc. to Initiate Clinical Trials for Critical Limb Salvage At UT-Houston Medical School

Business Wire, July 21, 1998

MONTGOMERY, Texas--(BW HealthWire)--July 21, 1998--Endovasc Ltd. Inc. (NASD OTC Bulletin Board:ENDV) today announced that it will begin its first human studies of its liposomal prostaglandin E-1 (LLPGE-1) for salvage of limbs in patients whose only alternative is limp amputation.

The study will be under the direction of Dr. Richard K. Smalling, M.D., Ph.D., its principal investigator. The study will commence in September or as soon as the company receives clearance from the FDA of its review of animal data. Company CEO, Dr. David P. Summers, stated, "PGE-1 in liposomal form has had some spectacular results in animals. It is now time to move to the human phase. Our investigation will determine whether or not this hormone can produce an extension of life in a limb that would otherwise be lost to amputation. We are confident that we can provide an additional reprieve for the limb. The question we will ask is: How long?"

Endovasc Ltd. Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company using liposomal drug delivery for products that have already shown safety and efficacy in the generic form. The company products and processes are covered by patents and trade secrets for competing in a $2 billion market.
