Sony Trans Com Names Debbie Mester Senior Manager of Entertainment Programming

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 21, 1998--Sony Trans Com, leading airline entertainment system and content provider, has named Debbie Mester, senior manager of Entertainment Programming.
She reports to Fran Phillips, director of Entertainment Services, and will have overall responsibility for the company's audio and video programming activities.
Prior to assuming her new position, Mester was vice president of Inflight Entertainment Services with Interactive Flight Technologies, and manager of Inflight Entertainment Services with Matsushita. She was a member of the WAEA Digital Media Distribution-Technical Committee for three years. The Committee was responsible for working out all specifications and encryption standards for digital systems, including the incorporation of distributor and laboratory requirements.
"Debbie brings Sony a wealth of inflight entertainment industry contacts and knowledge, including experience with Video-On-Demand and Audio-On-Demand services," Phillips said. "We are very excited to have her join our team because her experience compliments the needs of our growing organization."
At Sony, Mester will spearhead the development of expanded entertainment services. In addition to managing entertainment programming activities at Sony's Irvine headquarters, she will also manage offices in London and Singapore.
