theglobe.com Files for IPO With Securities and Exchange Commission

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 24, 1998--theglobe.com, inc. announced today that it filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission a Registration Statement on Form S-1 relating to an initial public offering of up to $50 million of Common Stock of the Company, assuming exercise in full of an over-allotment option to be granted to the underwriters. All of the shares proposed to be sold are to be sold by the Company. Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. will act as lead manager and Volpe Brown Whelan & Co. will act as co manager for the offering.
