Business Wire, July 27, 1998
STERLING, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 27, 1998--
Whitebox to Be the First Test Optimization Toolkit to Be Integrated With Mercury Interactive's Open Test Architecture
Reliable Software Technologies Corp. (RST) announced the integration of WhiteBox(tm) -- RST's leading early-lifecycle software assurance tools with TestDirector(tm) 5.0.
"We are excited about the integration of WhiteBox with TestDirector," said Jeffery E. Payne, president of Reliable Software Technologies. "We believe that early life-cycle testing can result in more cost-effective quality assurance and a critical component of such testing is thorough test planning. Integrating our leading-edge WhiteBox tools into TestDirector provides a mechanism for developers and testers to integrate test planning with tools that can help optimize the use of testing resources and prioritize where testing should be concentrated."
Combined these capabilities will further enrich the analysis of testing within the Test Director 5.0 framework, providing users multiple views of test analysis data from which to make the right testing decisions. The result will be a more thorough and efficient testing process as well as a better-managed test environment.
"Using DeepCover in parallel with the latest test management tools in TestDirector 5.0, provides an effective means of assuring that you are making progress with your testing," says Dave Peirce, RST's Director of Business Development.
"We are seeing acceptance by the development and assurance communities to require that their systems pass minimum thresholds of test coverage prior to source check-in, or as exit-criteria for testing. DeepCover is delivering the most coverage detail available at the least expense to the software team. We believe every developer, tester, and implementer of business-critical systems should have access to such important and fundamental information."
"TestDirector's open test architecture enabled RST to integrate with our best-of-breed testing solutions," said Zohar Gilad, vice president of product marketing at Mercury Interactive. "TestDirector and WhiteBox 3.0 enable customers to easily assess the effectiveness of their testing efforts."
