BALA CYNWYD, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 28, 1998--Notice is hereby given that a class action lawsuit was filed on July 24, 1998 in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, on behalf of all persons who purchased or otherwise acquired the common stock of Vesta Insurance Group Inc. ("Vesta" or the "Company"), from Jan. 27, 1994 through June 28, 1998, inclusive (the "Class Period").

The complaint charges Vesta (NYSE: VTA) and certain of its officers and directors with overstating the Company's revenues, net income, and earnings per share throughout the Class Period through the utilization of improper accounting methods. As a result of defendants' actions, the price of Vesta common stock was artificially inflated at all times during the Class Period.
