Joe Perle Increases Holdings of Perle Systems

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 28, 1998--Joseph E. Perle, President and Chief Executive Officer of Perle Systems Limited (NASDAQ: PERLF; TSE: PL) today announced that on July 26, 1998 he purchased 18,000 common shares of Perle Systems Limited (the "Company") at an average purchase price of $2.78 CDN per 6 share in the open market to hold an aggregate of 1,074,257 common shares of the Company, representing approximately 15% of the outstanding
shares of the Company.
Perle Systems Limited is a leading developer, manufacturer and vendor of award-winning communications hardware and software products. Perle products include Remote Access Servers and Remote Access Switches for Ethernet and Token-Ring LANs and Remote Network Controllers for IBM AS/400 networks.
