Business Wire, July 8, 1998
WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 8, 1998--
ISA To Provide Consulting And Software Services for
AXENT's WebDefender(R) and Axcess(R) Products
Internet Security Advantages, Inc. (ISA) and AXENT Technologies (NASDAQ:AXNT), Inc. have entered into a strategic partnership to deliver integrated web security solutions that control access across distributed Web applications. Through this partnership, ISA will offer consulting services that leverage AXENT's Web access control products, WebDefender and Axcess, into enterprise-wide systems for clients. The end result for the customer is a product-based solution that can scale across heterogeneous environments.
As more and more enterprises realize a high return on investment by deploying business-critical intranets and Web applications, they are facing new challenges to control access across their distributed networks. One of the major tasks is to implement access control solutions that integrate with the back-office legacy data sources or existing directory systems. In addition, most large-scale Web environments use multiple Web server platforms and Web application tools. Because of its extensive security and application development experience, ISA is uniquely qualified to address these challenges.
When asked what the new relationship will mean to customers, Dennis Gray, Senior Data Security Analyst with APS, Arizona's largest and longest-serving energy supplier, said, "We needed to leverage our existing NT-based intranet expertise to allow employees flexible access to their office e-mail and calendar via the Internet. ISA assisted us, in a very short time, to integrate AXENT's Web Defender, AXENT Defender and Microsoft Web Outlook. We now have secured access and have leveraged the strong product authentication features to alleviate concerns about online hackers snooping user ID passwords."
Commenting on the partnership with ISA, Lance Urbas, V.P. and General Manager of Raptor Business Unit of AXENT, said, "ISA has extremely well-qualified and talented engineers who really understand security issues. We put them to the test and they did an outstanding job. We are excited to work with them as partners."
Amine Mekkaoui, COO of ISA, added, "We're very honored and excited that AXENT decided to choose us as a strategic partner. As more companies deploy e-commerce applications, their sensitive data needs to be protected from unauthorized hackers and computer criminals. The combination of the Web Defender product, the AXCESS toolkit and ISA's in-depth expertise in customizing these tools, means customers doing business over the Internet, intranets and extranets can rest assured that these valuable assets will remain secure throughout the enterprise.
