BSQUARE To Release Upgrade of bPRINT for Windows CE-based Handheld PCs

Business Wire, June 16, 1998

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 16, 1998--

-- New printing software enables users to print to more printers,

queue jobs for printing, and preview documents before printing --

BSQUARE(R) Corporation announced today that its upgrade to bPRINT(tm), bPRINT version 2.0, will be available for purchase by mid-July.

The new program for Windows(R) CE-based Handheld PCs includes several printing features currently not supported in the device operating system. BSQUARE will be demonstrating the new program in booth No. 1933 and in the Microsoft Partner Pavilion No. 2646 at PC Expo this week.

"Although Handheld PCs do support a limited amount of print functionality, our research has shown that users are looking for the same printing functionality found on the desktop, and that functionality is not currently supported by the Windows CE operating system," described William Baxter, president and CEO of BSQUARE Corporation. "With bPRINT, users can print to more printers, send jobs to theprint queue throughout the day, and print jobs out all at once later when they have access to a printer."

bPRINT Makes Printing From a Handheld As Easy as Printing from the Desktop

bPRINT 2.0 for Windows CE version 2.0 Handheld PCs delivers the only printing program that supports Epson-compatible printers. In addition, bPRINT 2.0 contains a unique queue feature, so that users will no longer be inconvenienced by having to stand at the printer, open documents, and send them to print one-by-one. bPRINT also includes BSQUARE VIEW(R), a full-function print previewer that allows users preview the document, and make minor adjustments to it before printing.

With bPRINT 2.0, users also enjoy:

-- Printing via the infrared or serial ports -- Printing to Hewlett Packard printer control language compatible

printers (HP-PCL) -- Printing to Epson-compatible printers (ESC/P2 or Epson PDA) -- Batch printing multiple print jobs -- Adjusting fonts and margins before printing using BSQUARE VIEW -- Printing from other Handheld PC Applications such as Pocket Word,

Excel, Contacts, Inbox, or QuickNotes - any software application for the Handheld PC that supports printing -- Completely formatting text documents with bPRINT's layout feature -- Viewing of the print status

bPRINT requires a desktop PC running Windows 95/98 or Windows NT (for installation only), and a Handheld PC running version 2.0 of Windows CE. Information about the equipment needed for printing via the serial port or infrared port is listed on BSQUARE's Web site at www.bsquare.com.

The suggested retail price for single user copies is $29.95, with corporate pricing and programs available. Contact BSQUARE at for details. bPRINT 2.0 will be available from BSQUARE's network of resellers by mid-July, and a free trial copy will be posted on the BSQUARE Web site.
