CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 18, 1998--Arthur D. Little, Inc., (ADL) a global strategic consulting firm, has named Michael Keating an Associate Director in the North American Information Management practice. Based in New York, Keating will be responsible for the identification and fulfillment of major strategic and operational projects in the Information Management practice across all industry segments. His primary focus will be on the strategic areas of Information Management including electronic commerce, database marketing, knowledge management and technical architectures.

According to Information Management Industry Practice Leader Bob Donohue, "Arthur D. Little's Information Management practice is increasing the overall value proposition of IT (information technology) in global enterprises. Keating's leading-edge work in large scale SAP implementation and emerging technologies--most notably data mining and electronic commerce--will strengthen our IM practice focus in North America. He's a welcome addition to our skilled team of professionals."

On the state of the rapidly changing information technology industry, Keating states, "We will witness an accelerated evolution of applications and techniques that will change not only the way we do business but the way we live. The idea of `convergence' has become something of a cliche, but in the `digital' world it's already a fundamental reality. The victory laurels will go to those who get their customers and business partners wired into a business relationship as soon as possible, then leverage that relation across a whole spectrum of value-added products and services."

Keating joins ADL from Bertelsmann AG, a German media company specializing in book, music, and magazine publishing as well as new media. He was corporate CIO for North America responsible for a wide range of operational and strategic issues. Prior to Bertelsmann, he was a consultant in the media industry. Keating began his technical career at Bell Laboratories and later at AT&T. Keating received his undergraduate degree from Fordham University and completed advanced technical and business studies at the Bell System Center for Technical Education and the Harvard Business School.
