MATRIXX Marketing Will Provide Customer Care For Bell Atlantic Video; Agreement Includes Telesales Support for Direct Broadcast Satellite Services
Business Wire, June 22, 1998
CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 22, 1998--MATRIXX Marketing(R) today announced an agreement to provide customer service and telesales support for the Bell Atlantic Video Services Company's offering of direct broadcast satellite (DBS) services. Under terms of the one-year contract, which is renewable up to three years, MATRIXX will provide customer care services in its new service center in South Jordan, Utah.
MATRIXX services to Bell Atlantic Video will include telesales support to help acquire customers, as well as customer service support for current and future customers. Customer service representatives will have access to the Wizard subscriber management and billing system offered by MATRIXX's sister company CBIS. Bell Atlantic Video recently signed an agreement with CBIS for billing and subscriber management to support the DBS service offering.
"MATRIXX has extensive experience in the DBS market, and they understand the challenges we're facing. They have the customer service experience we need as we prepare for our market launch, with a long list of clients who have benefited from exemplary customer care," said Richard E. Beville, president of Bell Atlantic Video. "We also wanted a company that could ramp up quickly to meet our growing needs, and MATRIXX has those capabilities."
"With MATRIXX providing its customer service and telesales support, Bell Atlantic Video can concentrate its efforts on providing digital video services," said David Dougherty, president and CEO of MATRIXX Marketing. "The MATRIXX and CBIS relationship with Bell Atlantic Video represents a significant opportunity for the two companies to work together to provide end-to-end customer management."
On March 2, Bell Atlantic Video announced a multi-year marketing and distribution agreement with DIRECTV, and also announced an agreement in principle to offer services from U.S. Satellite Broadcasting. When DBS services are launched commercially by Bell Atlantic Video this summer in two major markets, MATRIXX will provide customer service support and CBIS will provide the billing and subscriber management.
