Alico Inc. Announces Purchase of Approximately 8,400 Acres in Hendry County, Fla. From Atlantic Gulf Communities Inc

LA BELLE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 26, 1998--Ben Hill Griffin, III, chairman of the board of Alico Inc., announced Friday that the company purchased approximately 8,400 acres in Hendry County, Fla., from Atlantic Gulf Communities Inc., for $8.1 million.
Griffin stated that: "Alico is pleased to have the opportunity to acquire this property. Its location is contiguous with our current Hendry County land holdings and the transaction is in keeping with our desire to expand our asset base and agricultural operations."
