Worldtalk Announces New Version of WorldSecure Client With Plug-Ins to Lotus E-Mail Applications; WorldSecure Client Brings S/MIME Support to Both Lotus Notes and cc:Mail

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 30, 1998--Worldtalk(R) Corporation (NASDAQ:WTLK) today announced the latest version of its award-winning WorldSecure(tm) Client, now with plug-ins for Lotus Notes and cc:Mail.
WorldSecure Client 3.0 is an easy-to-use desktop application that employs the Secure MIME (S/MIME) encryption protocol to secure e-mail attachments and files across any communication link, including the Internet. WorldSecure Client now enables Lotus Notes and cc:Mail users to digitally sign and encrypt messages at their desktop, guaranteeing authenticity and confidentiality of their e-mail communication. This version of WorldSecure Client entered into open Beta on June 22, 1998 and is scheduled to ship at the end of July 1998.
Lotus is among the industry's leading e-mail software vendors, with an installed-base of more than 24 million seats worldwide. WorldSecure Client delivers the first S/MIME solution available to that installed-base in a completely integrated manner.WorldSecure plugs into existing Lotus Notes or cc:Mail systems and offers complete encryption and digital signature services. Lotus users can now secure their business communication and exchange sensitive information directly from the e-mail application that they currently use.

WorldSecure Client
WorldSecure Client solves three key e-mail security problems facing enterprises today: it provides e-mail privacy, retains e-mail integrity and confirms the originator's identity. WorldSecure Client includes support for today's leading Certificate Authorities (CA), including Entrust Technologies, Inc., GTE, and VeriSign, Inc. It can also take advantage of the directory services in Worldtalk's NetTalk product to publish and manage digital certificates or other directories via the LDAP protocol.
WorldSecure Client seamlessly integrates as a plug-in to popular mail clients, including Microsoft Exchange Client, Windows '95 Inbox, Microsoft Outlook, Eudora Pro and now Lotus Notes and cc:Mail. It is available for Windows '95 and Windows NT.
Strong Encryption
WorldSecure Client applies S/MIME encryption to secure data and information in e-mail over the Internet. It supports the widest range of encryption and digital algorithms to provide the broadest interoperability available. WorldSecure products can be exported internationally in both 56-bit and 128-bit encryption to meet customer requirements for strong encryption.

WorldSecure Client 3.0 Beta software is immediately available for download from the Worldtalk Web site at www.worldtalk.com. The shipping version will be available at the end of July 1998. The WorldSecure Client single user license is available for $89.95. Volume pricing is also available. WorldSecure Client 3.0 will be available from Worldtalk and its authorized resellers and business partners. A free version will also be available in limited quantities as part of Worldtalk's S/MIME Everywhere program. This free version of WorldSecure Client is available to U.S.-based consumers and organizations. The latter are restricted to 10 free licenses per organization. The free version will support 40-bit RC2 S/MIME encryption and 128-bit RC2 S/MIME decrypt operations.
