AMD-K6-2 Processors to be Used in HP Pavilion Home PCs; New HP Pavilion Multimedia PCs Powered by 333- and 300-MHz AMD-K6-2 Processors with 3DNow! Technology

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 30, 1998--AMD today announced that Hewlett-Packard Company is using the AMD-K6(R)-2 processor with 3DNow!(tm) technology in its new line of HP Pavilion PCs for the home to be sold in retail stores nationwide.
"The combination of the leading-edge 3D performance of AMD-K6-2 processors and the innovative features of the HP Pavilion PCs makes these systems an ideal choice for home users who want an exceptional multimedia, Internet, and 3D graphics viewing experience," said Rob Herb, AMD senior vice president and co-chief marketing executive.
The new AMD-K6-2 processor-based HP Pavilion PCs include:
-- HP Pavilion 6330 PC -- powered by an AMD-K6-2/300 processor with
512KB level two (L2) cache, 48 MB SDRAM, a 4 GB hard drive, a 24x CD-ROM, and 56Kbps fax/data modem.
-- HP Pavilion 6350 PC -- powered by an AMD-K6-2/333 processor with
512KB level two (L2) cache, 64 MB SDRAM, an 8 GB hard drive, a 24x CD-ROM, and 56Kbps fax/data modem.
The HP Pavilion PC series includes "home-friendly" features, such as a one-touch multimedia keyboard and Polk Audio stereo speakers.
The HP Pavilion PC series includes bundled software and is among the first PC lines to ship with the Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 98 operating system pre-installed.
