Metrowerks to Provide Software Development Tools for AMD-3D Technology

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 19, 1998--Metrowerks Inc. (ME: MWK) (TSE: MWK) (NASDAQ: MTWKF) announced today that the company will provide CodeWarrior software development tools for the AMD-3D Technology.
The tools include innovative vectorization techniques which easily allow software to take advantage of the AMD-3D instruction set.
CodeWarrior support for AMD-3D Technology is particularly advantageous for programmers, such as game developers, who are writing applications for a consumer market that demands outstanding graphics and multimedia capability for each new product introduced into the market. The tools allow programmers to take full advantage of the highly optimized AMD-3D Technology.

CodeWarrior support for AMD-3D Technology, hosted on Windows 95 or Windows NT, is incorporated into the award winning CodeWarrior Integrated Development Environment (IDE) with everything needed for application development, including editor, compiler, linker, and debugger.
Pricing and Availability
CodeWarrior support for AMD-3D Technology, including inline assembly, optimization for the K6 3D processor, per function optimization for AMD-3D Technology, and vectorization compiler techniques for AMD-3D Technology will be included with CodeWarrior Professional Release 3, scheduled for shipment at the end of March. Complex vectorization will be available later in 1998. CodeWarrior Professional is priced at $449, and is available from Metrowerks and its authorized resellers.
