Business Wire, March 24, 1998
CARY, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 24, 1998--SAS Institute Inc., the world's largest privately held software company, today announced a technology integration agreement with Logic Works, Inc. For data warehouse developers, the agreement will provide a comprehensive guide to building the data warehouse, plus integrated data modeling, data warehouse building, and data warehouse management. This innovative solution will combine SAS/Warehouse Administrator(TM) software's metadata management capabilities and Logic Works ERwin(TM) data modeling. The next version of Warehouse Administrator will integrate ERwin, and will be available later in 1998.
"By joining the SAS/Warehouse Administrator with Logic Works ERwin, data warehouse developers are offered a proven facility for designing, managing and communicating corporate information into the data warehouse," said John Ladley, META Group analyst. "The IT professional can better leverage existing data models when implementing integrated data warehousing solutions."
"Data modeling is a key component of SAS Institute's data warehousing implementation methodology," said Jim Davis, SAS Institute program manager for data warehousing. "The integration agreement between SAS(R) software and the Logic Works solution suite provides customers with an open and complete warehousing solution, allowing them to model in Logic Works ERwin(TM) and have those models populate the metadata managed by SAS/Warehouse Administrator(TM) software."
SAS Institute and Logic Works also today announced participation in the Logic Works Logical Links Partner Program, designed to help partners develop real-world, integrated business solutions that leverage the Logic Works solution suite -- ERwin, BPwin, ModelMart and Universal Directory.
"Through SAS Institute's participation in the Logic Links program, we will provide close integration between ERwin, the leading data warehouse design tool, and the SAS/Warehouse Administrator," said Dan Shiffman, executive vice president of business development at Logic Works. "This powerful combination is a comprehensive solution for designing and building data warehouses and will directly address the needs of our mutual customers."
