PowerLite 7300 Redefines High Resolution Projection and

Versatility

Epson, the world leader in high-performance projectors, Monday announced the PowerLite 7300, the industry's first portable high-brightness, high-performance XGA (1024 x 768) resolution projector with the power and functionality of an installed product.

With 1200 ANSI lumens bursting from the projector, the PowerLite 7300 provides incredibly bright, finely detailed images. No matter how complicated the high-resolution image appears on the computer, the PowerLite 7300 projects it in brilliant, rich colors, even in a brightly-lit room.

"The PowerLite 7300 offers astonishing brightness combined with top-of-the-line resolution and image quality," said Jim Hall, group product manager, projectors, Epson. "This new projector is perfect for presenters who demand the latest technology whether it be in a portable or in a permanently mounted projector. We believe it is the industry's first truly cross-functional projector."

Versatile Form Factor -- Permanent or Portable

The innovative design and feature set of the PowerLite 7300 demonstrate Epson's leadership in moving the projector industry further away from traditional large, heavy and outmoded CRT projecting devices.

Not only does the PowerLite 7300 serve as the new flagship in Epson's line of portable projectors, but for the first time, a projector has been designed for both portable missions as well as for fixed rear-projection and/or ceiling mounting use in permanent classroom, conference or boardroom environments. The PowerLite 7300 has the performance features demanded by today's power presenting audiences.

Superior 1024 x 768 XGA Image Quality

Power presenters typically use high-resolution notebook or desktop computers with image-intensive software to project graphics, photographs, X-ray images, animation and engineering designs. Epson has dramatically improved the brightness and image quality of LCD projectors for power presentations with the PowerLite 7300.

Newly added technology includes a new lamp reflector design and interior lenses to improve the internal optics, internal masking within the LCD to reduce the amount of light that bleeds from one pixel to the next, and a newly designed zoom lens with faster optical elements to project more light onto the screen.

The result of this state-of-the-art combination is better image quality with the brightest image ever in a portable projector, an astonishing 1200 ANSI lumens from a 120 watt UHE lamp for an unbelievable 10 lumens per watt!

High Performance LCDs

Epson continues its technology dominance with the introduction of the PowerLite 7300. Aside from resolution, major identifiers of projector image quality are color saturation, contrast ratio and illumination uniformity.

And among the components of a projector, LCD quality is key. The PowerLite 7300's LCDs are purpose-built for projectors and produced by Epson's parent company, Seiko Epson, the world's largest XGA Poly-Silicon LCD innovator and manufacturer. Due to its 20-plus years of LCD manufacturing experience, Epson's new Poly-Silicon LCDs excel at each of these functions to provide exceptional image quality.

In its XGA projectors, Epson uses three Poly-Silicon LCDs each with 1024 x 768 pixels: one LCD for red, one for blue and one for green. So for every image that is sent through the projector, almost 2.4 million pixels are used to create the final dazzling output. Other XGA projectors use only 786,000 pixels.

Seiko Epson has raised the performance bar again by introducing in the PowerLite 7300 an Ultra High Aperture (UHA) LCD panel. Epson's LCDs allow more light to pass through to the projection screen. This is accomplished by positioning a microscopic lens in front of each pixel of the LCD, focusing more light through each pixel.

Nearly seventy-percent of this light passes through, which is more than twice the light compared to LCDs of just two years ago. This approach gives the PowerLite 7300 clear, crisp text and graphics with accurate, saturated, brilliant colors.

Simultaneous Presentations From Windows and Mac, Windows and Windows Or...

With many professionals now called upon to produce joint presentations with colleagues or co-vendors, the PowerLite 7300 meets their needs efficiently. The projector includes two computer inputs and two mouse ports for use on either Windows or Mac platforms.

In the event that simultaneous presenters are using two different computer platforms, the PowerLite 7300 allows switching between computers seamlessly, with the quick touch of a button.

Also, the PowerLite 7300 automatically distinguishes between PAL, SECAM and NTSC video. All input ports and cables are supplied with the projector for connecting users' existing video and computer displays.

Adapters and cables are available for popular workstations. Users of high-end workstations will find the PowerLite 7300 ideal for sharing their presentations due to image size, brightness, and clarity, still unrivaled by competing technologies.
