United Express Regional Jet Service Between Savannah, Ga., and Washington Dulles Starts Wednesday, April 1

DULLES, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 31, 1998--Atlantic Coast Airlines (ACA), which operates in the Eastern United States as United Express, will begin regional jet service between Savannah, Ga., and Washington Dulles International Airport on Wednesday, April 1.

The new service will be provided by the 50-passenger Canadair Regional Jet, which is manufactured by the Canadair Unit of Bombardier Inc. of Montreal, Canada. This regional jet is the quietest commercial aircraft on the market today. It cruises at a speed of 534 mph, offers two-by-two seating and cruises to an altitude of 41,000 feet.

Together, United and United Express offer more than 275 departures every business day from Washington Dulles, more than all other carriers combined. United Express serves 45 destinations in 20 states with more than 500 nonstop flights.

ACA's route system spans the East Coast from Maine to Florida. ACA operates a fleet of 67 jet and turboprop aircraft including seven regional jets, 32 Jetstream 41 and 28 Jetstream 32 turboprop aircraft. The average age of ACA's fleet is approximately five years. -0-
