J.D. Edwards, Criterion Announce Alliance to Deliver Integrated Human Resources Planning System; Sophisticated Succession Planning and Self-Service Training Planning Software Now Available to OneWorld Customers
Business Wire, May 19, 1998
DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 19, 1998--J.D. Edwards(R) (NASDAQ:JDEC), one of the world's leading providers of enterprise business software, and Criterion Incorporated, the leader in human resources planning software, today announced a strategic alliance to integrate Criterion's StrategicSuite(TM) of analytical human resources applications with J.D. Edwards' OneWorld(TM) human resources applications. StrategicSuite creates an HR planning infrastructure in which line managers and HR professionals can do succession planning and career pathing, training administration and management, and diversity planning. StrategicSuite is designed for intranet and client/server environments.
"Together, our products and services provide companies with extensive human resources planning functionality, allowing them to assess their workforce and plan their human resources as carefully and strategically as they plan capital and material resources," said Criterion's Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Marcia L. Jones, Ph.D. "Studies show that 'people issues' are key to competitiveness in the 21st century. The combined technology of Criterion and J.D. Edwards enables our clients to maximize the effectiveness of employees, the human resources department and the organization."
To perform succession planning, career pathing and organizational development tasks, Criterion's BluePrint(TM) software accesses the employee information stored in the human resources system. BluePrint then merges this data with information about an employee's career goals, development plans, anticipated career paths, competence and performance ratings, and unique skills and qualifications. Employees, managers, and human resource professionals can access and update the information from any Web browser, such as Microsoft's Explorer or Netscape.
Criterion's CornerStone(TM) Web-based training administration and management software serves not only the training department staff, but also line managers and employees. The software's self-service function allows managers to access training programs targeted at specific competencies and enrolls employees in those courses. Employees can also browse course catalogs, review curricula and submit online enrollment requests.
"The alliance with Criterion will complement and leverage the global business strategy of J.D. Edwards' customers," said Kem Butler, human resources management industry marketing manager at J.D. Edwards. "Criterion has a combination of best-of-breed applications, technological expertise, industry know-how and an emphasis on client service and quality that complements our own."
