Misco Enterprises Successfully Implements J.D. Edwards Software in Under 90 Days; ERP Software Allows Smooth Company Merger and More Reliable Inventory Tracking
Business Wire, Nov 11, 1998
DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 11, 1998--Enterprise business software provider J.D. Edwards & Company (Nasdaq:JDEC) announced today that Misco Enterprises, a manufacturer of plastic planters, recently completed a full implementation of J.D. Edwards' WorldSoftware(tm) in under 90 days. With the assistance of Sky Technologies, a J.D. Edwards Small Business Solutions (SBS) value-added reseller (VAR), Misco implemented WorldSoftware to facilitate electronic data interchange (EDI), become year 2000 ready and streamline internal financial and distribution processes.
"After restructuring internally, we found ourselves trying to run our business with two different software packages. We needed one solution that we could use company-wide, and J.D. Edwards met that need for us," said Morris Moskowitz, Misco's general manager. "Also, serving large, multinational customers requires us to have a large amount of inventory in our warehouse at all times. Our previous inventory system couldn't keep up with that demand and we couldn't rely on its accuracy. We chose WorldSoftware to provide a reliable, scalable way to accurately stock our products."
Through J.D. Edwards' SBS channel, organizations with revenues below $35 million can take advantage of J.D. Edwards' software, implementation tools and methodologies to achieve rapid implementations averaging six to twelve weeks. This provides J.D. Edwards customers with implementation times significantly faster than standard ERP implementation time frames.
"In order to stay competitive in today's marketplace, small businesses often find that they require the same resources and functionality available to large, global organizations. The SBS channel provides affordable, efficient solutions that will allow businesses like Misco Enterprises the opportunity to increase market share and profitability while improving customer satisfaction," said Rick Byrne, director of J.D. Edwards' SBS channel program.
Misco Enterprises runs WorldSoftware financial and distribution suites on an IBM AS/400(R) platform. More than 30 employees access the J.D. Edwards system at Misco's corporate headquarters.
