GERS Retail Systems Announces The Addition of Peter Grimando as Senior Account Executive
Business Wire, Nov 13, 1998
SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 13, 1998--GERS Retail Systems is pleased to announce the addition of Peter Grimando to the GERS sales team as a senior account executive.
Grimando comes to GERS from another significant retail software company, where he was a senior account executive and member of the President's Club.
"My goal at GERS is to maximize penetration into the general retail marketplace by leveraging the excellent reputation of the company and the wealth of experience it has in deploying true client-server," said Grimando. "My belief is that a serious void exists in the industry today for the type of flexibility and scalability GERS offers in its general retail product."
Prior to his most recent position in retail software systems sales, Grimando was employed at Aerosoles as the vice president of store operations, and Geoffrey Beene and Izod Retail as a regional director. At GERS, he will cover the Eastern part of the country.
"As we position ourselves to take advantage of the many opportunities in the software industry, we realize that we have to have the highest quality people in place in order to go to the next level," said Jim Henderson, GERS president and chief executive officer. "We feel we have done that with the addition of Peter, whose vision and achievement as a sales professional speak for itself."
Grimando joins Don Vander Beke, who recently came aboard GERS as executive vice president of marketing; Onagh Ash, GERS' executive vice president of sales, who came from SAP; and Jerry Blanford, GERS' vice president of sales, who joined GERS from the same competing retail software company as Grimando.
Built within an Oracle relational database to facilitate optimal growth and flexibility, the GERS System, a comprehensive management tool, alleviates retailers of manual tasks by providing real-time automation of integral daily tasks such as sales, inventory, merchandising, and accounting. Optional modules allow retailers to expand their system to incorporate hot new technologies.
San Diego-based GERS Retail Systems provides fully integrated, Open Systems computer solutions software, hardware, and comprehensive training for hardlines, softlines, department stores, home furnishings retailers, and consumer electronics/wireless retail operations.
