New Roth IRA Calculator Subtracts Guesswork, Adds Peace of Mind
Business Wire, Nov 17, 1998
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 17, 1998--The newest "best-in-class" power tool to hit the Internet - the Net Technologies, Inc. Roth IRA Calculator - debuts today at www.tucker-anthony.com, the Web site of Northeast regional brokerage firm Tucker Anthony Incorporated.
The first Web-based IRA conversion calculator to be classified as "high end" by Roth IRA expert Dr. Gobind Daryanani, the NTI Roth IRA Calculator offers more features, improved functionality and greater accuracy than any other equivalent tool in the marketplace.
"Overall, this is the best Web-based calculator currently available," said Dr. Daryanani, founder of the Roth IRA Conversion Consulting Service and author of the recent study, Market Analysis of Roth IRA Calculators. "The technology is robust and better than others on the Internet right now. Its ease-of-use enables any individual with the ability to turn on a computer to powerfully arm himself with the knowledge it takes to make the right retirement decisions. This is what retirement planning on the Internet is all about."
In Dr. Daryanani's comprehensive study of all currently available calculators, he notes many features that make this tool a standout. These include:
-- The ability to consider minimum required distributions (both term
certain and recalculation methods.)
-- The ability to not only provide information on eligibility for
the various IRA options, but also to determine the amount that
may be contributed in the phase-out income levels (a feature
deemed "best-in-class" by Dr. Daryanani).
-- The use of annualized pay-out during the distribution years to
compare the various IRA options. This model is considered more
realistic than the "lump-sum" distribution model used in many
other calculators, in which all monies are distributed in one
year.
-- The ability to generate comprehensive reports online that can be
readily printed and that explain results in-depth (currently, the
only Web-based calculator with this feature).
-- A convenient split-screen display that shows both inputs and
results, allowing the user to instantly see the effects of
different scenarios (this is particularly useful for brokers in
explaining these various scenarios to clients).
-- The ability to quickly construct extensive tables that can be
used to follow various steps in the calculations.
-- The graphic display of results highlighting only the essential
data for those who are just interested in the bottom line.

anion Animal Health Agreement
Health/Medical Writers
THE WOODLANDS, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 17, 1998-- GeneMedicine Inc. (Nasdaq:GMED) announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Heska Corporation, Fort Collins, Colo. (Nasdaq:HSKA), under which Heska has the exclusive right to evaluate GeneMedicine's proprietary cationic lipid and polymer-based DNA formulation and delivery technologies for certain immunotherapeutic applications in companion animal health. Under the agreement, GeneMedicine will receive an option fee and, if Heska exercises its option to acquire an exclusive license, GeneMedicine will also receive license fees, milestone payments and royalties.
GeneMedicine's formulation and delivery technology is intended to treat disease through targeted delivery of plasmid based medicines to either produce therapeutic proteins or stimulate helpful immune responses. GeneMedicine technology is being evaluated for several applications including both local and systemic delivery of immune-modulating therapeutic gene products for the treatment of cancer and certain infectious diseases. These plasmid-based delivery technologies are non-replicating and non-immunogenic, thus allowing for repeated administration of the formulation with sustained efficiency. GeneMedicine is currently evaluating these platforms in human clinical trials both in Europe and the U.S. for the treatment of cancer.
"Heska continues to look for novel, safe and effective treatments for serious health conditions that affect companion animals," said Dr. Robert Grieve, Heska's chief scientific officer. "This agreement with GeneMedicine will provide Heska with access to exciting proprietary technology that may allow us to offer veterinarians a safe, non-toxic, and convenient method for treating companion animals suffering from cancer, in addition to treating infectious diseases through targeted activation of the pet's immune system."
