Former MCI Executive Leads Team Implementing chello broadband's Aorta Pan-European Network

AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 2, 1998--Sudhir Ispahani has joined chello broadband n.v., the pan-European broadband internet service provider (ISP), as Chief Technology Officer where he is overseeing the design and implementation of its Pan-European internet protocol (IP) network service -- Aorta(TM).

Ispahani has significant experience in large-scale projects having previously headed a team of 600 staff at MCI responsible for organizing and controlling strategic and operational support of its distributed Client Server environment across the USA.

Ispahani said, "A project of this magnitude will require an industry effort that combines multiple vendors and technologies. Implementation of a network at this scale requires chello broadband to utilize internally-developed artificial intelligence technology."

Joining Ispahani's team are: Michael Foxworthy, Vice President of Convergent Architectures & Solutions; Joe Baker, Vice President of Service Delivery and Operations Support; and Madhu Raman as Vice President of Information Services Management.

Chief architect, Foxworthy, is responsible for the network and systems architecture, having designed and implemented several high-profile data network projects while at MCI.

Joe Baker hails from US Air Force Space Command, where he managed the acquisition and operational support of space defense systems.

Madhu Raman, Vice President of Information Services Management, will be responsible for leading the engineering services and programme management of the central and national organizations of the company. Raman strengthens the team with his decade of experience helping executive management in numerous Fortune 100 corporations identify and apply emerging technology for competitive advantage.
