Business Wire, Nov 20, 1998
MOORESTOWN, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 20, 1998--Momentum Systems, a leader in high-performance, secure file communications for electronic commerce communications, announced that it has been awarded a licensing agreement by Microsoft that allows Momentum to use the "Designed for Microsoft(R) BackOffice(R)" logo for its Intelligent Network Gateway NT (ING-NT) software.
"The rapid adoption and use of open networking via the Internet have reintroduced challenges of effectively and efficiently automating file movement," said Bob O'Brien, manager, BackOffice Partner Programs, Microsoft. "Customers deploying BackOffice-based systems are clearly looking for the advantages of open networking with the added confidence that they are maintaining appropriate levels of control and manageability on the interchange of files and data."
With the Designed for Microsoft BackOffice logo, users are assured that the ING-NT can be installed and perform in accordance with Microsoft's standards for a Windows NT-based system service, and can be used with the Microsoft BackOffice family of products. Specifically, the conformance to the BackOffice compatibility criteria ensures that the ING-NT: -0-
-- Works in a Windows NT Server-based environment.
-- Is a 32-bit application.
-- Can be installed using Microsoft's Systems Management Server
(SMS) software.
-- Supports TCP/IP.
-- Runs as a Windows NT-based system service.
-- Supports the ODBC database standard.
"The Designed for Microsoft BackOffice logo license is a significant distinction for Momentum and our ING-NT software," said Thomas A. Corr, president of Maverick Momentum LLC. "The compliance provides third-party credibility that our ING-NT will satisfy customer requirements for automated and lower-cost electronic commerce communications in a Windows NT Server environment."
The ING-NT automates the entire file communications process, while providing centralized management, control, and administration of all file transfer activity through the Internet/Intranet, and between organizations and their remote endpoints. Momentum's ING-NT automates file communications and supports a variety of protocols, including FTP, ASYNC, BSC, SNA, and TCP/IP. The ING-NT also offers users a highly flexible EDI solution with a significantly lower total cost of ownership compared with mainframe-based solutions and Value Added Networks.
