Business Wire, Nov 20, 1998
LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 20, 1998--Hewlett-Packard Company today announced that the HP LaserJet 3100 printer-fax-copier-scanner (estimated U.S. street price of $699) has claimed PC Computing magazine's 1998 Most Valuable Product (MVP) Award in the multifunction fax/copier/printer category.
The HP LaserJet 3100 all-in-one is the company's first all-in-one to feature HP's industry-leading LaserJet technology. PC Computing is the Ziff-Davis (NYSE:ZD) magazine for technology-focused business professionals.
The HP LaserJet 3100 all-in-one and other MVP Award winners were honored here at PC Computing's 10th annual MVP Awards ceremony, held Nov. 15 at Studio 54 in the MGM Grand Hotel.
PC Computing's editors said that the HP LaserJet 3100 all-in-one combines HP's legendary razor-sharp printer output with copying, scanning and faxing functions that are as good as those of stand-alone devices.
"The HP LaserJet 3100 has been judged the best in its class by our tough panel of editors, who are uncompromising technology experts," said PC Computing editor Wendy Taylor. "The LaserJet 3100 is the multifunction device of choice for business technology buyers because it gives business professionals a strategic, competitive advantage in the workplace."
The 1998 MVP Awards span 96 product categories, making the MVP Award-winner roster an invaluable buyer's guide. PC Computing's editors conduct an exhaustive review of thousands of Internet, digital office, software and hardware products, evaluating them for usability, performance, technology, innovation and value.
Products in all categories that shipped between Oct. 1, 1997 and Sept. 30, 1998 were eligible for consideration by PC Computing's editors for the 1998 MVP Awards.
