CIGNA Corp. Names James A. Sears Chief Accounting Officer

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 23, 1998--CIGNA Corp. announced Monday that James A. Sears has been named chief accounting officer.
Sears will be responsible for CIGNA's corporate-wide financial issues and accounting controls. Most recently, he served for eight years as vice president and chief accounting officer for CIGNA's Property & Casualty division. Sears joined CIGNA in 1997 as controller for the company's Special Risk Facilities unit. He is a CPA and received a bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware.
CIGNA's businesses rank among the largest health care, employee benefits, insurance and financial services organizations in the United States. In addition, CIGNA operates one of the largest U.S.-based international benefits and insurance organizations. CIGNA Corp. has consolidated assets of approximately $109 billion and shareholders' equity of $8.2 billion.
