from TNT, TBS's Top-Rated Shows

THQ Inc. (Nasdaq/NMS:THQI), publisher of four top-selling and critically acclaimed wrestling titles for Nintendo 64 and PlayStation, breaks new ground with "WCW Nitro" for PC, the first WCW wrestling game for the personal computer.

The game, shipping Monday, will be available in major retail outlets nationwide for a suggested retail price of $29.95.

"WCW Nitro" features an updated roster of more than 60 WCW and NWO superstars, including "Hollywood" Hogan, Kevin Nash, Raven, Diamond Dallas Page, and WCW World Heavyweight Champion Goldberg.

With numerous pay-per-view arenas in which to battle, tons of hidden wrestlers, official Nitro theme music, authentic video rants, and trademark finishers and taunts, "WCW Nitro" recreates all the excitement that surrounds World Championship Wrestling's sold-out events across the country.

"`WCW Nitro' sets the standard for wrestling games on the PC," said Steve Ryno, vice president, product development, THQ. "From start to finish, it takes the most exciting elements of WCW Monday Nitro and jams them into an action-packed game for wrestling fans and PC gamers of all ages."

Developed by Inland Productions, "WCW Nitro" features 3-D-accelerated graphics and lightning-fast game play, and is compatible with PC Game Pads. The game allows armchair athletes to engage in professional wrestling's many types of combat, including tournaments, tag teams and an all-new, over-the-top-rope battle-royal mode that can feature up to 30 grapplers from start to finish.

Additionally, "WCW Nitro" boasts a multi-user mode allowing players to battle each other through LANs or over the Internet.

"WCW Nitro's" first printing comes packaged with a limited-edition, 3-D lenticular placard suitable for framing, which features rotating photos of nine of World Championship Wrestling's most popular superstars. Additionally, the placard is adhered to the Nitro box front and marks one of the first times 3-D lenticular technology has ever been used in PC packaging.

World Championship Wrestling is a subsidiary of Turner Broadcasting System Inc., a Time Warner (NYSE:TWX) company.
