WorldCom Subsidiary Utilizes Copper Mountain Solution to Offer Faster
Internet Access Solution to Small and Medium-Sized Businesses
Copper Mountain Networks today announced that UUNET WorldCom, a global leader in Internet communications solutions, has deployed Copper Mountain equipment in more than 50 Central Offices (COs) nationwide.
UUNET WorldCom selected Copper Mountain's end-to-end DSL solution to facilitate its Preferred Access 768, a dedicated Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line (SDSL) service with 768 kbps bandwidth targeted at small and medium-sized businesses throughout UUNET WorldCom's nationwide footprint.
UUNET WorldCom has deployed CopperEdge(TM) Multi-Speed DSL Concentrators in its Central Offices, while business end users and individuals connect to its services via multi-speed CopperRocket(TM) DSL Customer premises equipment. In addition, UUNET WorldCom employs the CopperView(TM) Network Management System to provide network-wide visibility and control.
