BERGDATA AG Offers New Fingerprint Software Developer's Kit
Business Wire, Oct 12, 1998
BONN, GERMANY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 12, 1998--Today, BERGDATA AG (http://www.bergdata.com) releases its new Fingerprint Software Developer's Kit (FP-SDK).
Using this tool interested companies are able to develop and market their own fingerprint based security applications. The kit contains a FingerChip(TM) based Fingerprint Scanner and the BERGDATA Fingerprint Identification System Library (bdfis). Supported operating systems are MS Windows 95(TM) and MS Windows NT 4.0(TM).
Core of the system is BERGDATA's robust, high performance, platform independent, micro recognition engine (200 Kbyte), which is optimized for restricted hardware resources of embedded systems. The performance of the system is the result of consequent work. "As a member of the BAPI Working Group, BERGDATA belongs to one of the most important biometric standardization groups.
"The cooperation with the BAPI founder I/O Software Inc. enables us to provide our customers with many standardized and internationalized different security applications," said Franz B. Veit, president and CEO of BERGDATA AG. "Thanks to our close relationship with Thomson-CSF, France, BERGDATA is the first manufacturer who is able to offer FingerChip(TM) based biometric products," he pointed out. Looking at the rapid growing security market these are important points.
"With the Thomson-CSF FingerChip(TM) we now use a technology which enables unbelievable possibilities of miniaturization. Therefore it is no problem to integrate the system in notebooks, PDAs, web phones or mobiles," said Veit. "The combination of BERGDATA'S hardware and software, based on our recognition algorithm, the very small FingerChip(TM) will become the Fingerprint Scanner Technology of the future!"
For developers who own a Thomson-CSF FC-DEMO3-Kit but are in need of Identification and Verification Software, BERGDATA offers a specially designed version of its Evaluation Software.
BERGDATA AG is a German company focusing on development and manufacturing of high quality biometric products based on innovative technologies like Java(TM), C-MOS based sensors and embedded platforms. Now, BERGDATA is actively building it's worldwide distribution network and extends it's development cooperation with companies around the whole world.
