Compaq Announces U.S. Price Cuts of Up to 14 Percent on Compaq C-Series Handheld PCs; New Battery Charger Further Enhances Customer Productivity

Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE:CPQ) today announced U.S. price cuts of up to 14 percent on its entire C-Series handheld PC family of products. The Compaq C-Series 2010c and 2015c handheld PCs, previously priced at $799(a), are now available in the U.S. for an estimated selling price of $699(a). The estimated selling price of the Compaq C-Series 810 was reduced 14 percent, from $499(a) to $425(a).
Compaq also announced a new battery charger option for the Compaq C-Series 2010c and 2015c products, delivering increased productivity for the mobile user. The new battery charger is capable of charging two batteries at once, and comes equipped with an additional NiMH battery. The battery charger will be available for $99(a) worldwide starting in November.
