PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 13, 1998--
Integration with Tivoli Enterprise Extends Applications Management
for Customers
Embarcadero Technologies, Inc. and Tivoli Systems Inc. demonstrated a major enhancement to enterprise management today at Planet Tivoli Paris by announcing and displaying the integration of Embarcadero's award-winning DBArtisan with Tivoli Enterprise. DBArtisan 5.0 will provide seamless links into Tivoli Enterprise, providing Tivoli users greater depth of control over enterprise applications and databases. The integration, which gives DBArtisan the Tivoli-Ready(tm) designation, extends DBArtisan's reach into full-scale enterprise management.
"Proper management of complex database environments is crucial for customers who depend on their applications to conduct business," said Mike Turner, vice president, Application Business Solutions, Tivoli Systems Inc. "Working together, Tivoli and Embarcadero provide customers with the industry's best solutions for database management, automation and performance."
The combined products automate database management tasks and enable customers to accomplish highly complex change management, security management and storage management tasks across multiple database environments using Tivoli's single action management technology. This new solution also provides customers the means to develop and deploy complex alteration and server recovery strategies with point-and-click simplicity, allowing customers to respond quickly to unpredictable problems in database availability and performance.
Through the "Tivoli-Ready" Embarcadero solution, customers can optimize availability and performance while minimizing administrative costs. Specifically, the integration provides Tivoli customers with the capability to record and edit complex database management tasks as well as perform scheduled table and view alterations and more. Through the Tivoli Enterprise Console, customers can schedule and deploy these tasks across multiple database environments, thus providing breadth and depth of control over the mission-critical enterprise database environment.
"This integration signals our intention to continue to provide high-quality solutions that Fortune 1000 companies have come to expect from Embarcadero," said Stephen Wong, Embarcadero CEO. "This partnership extends the breadth of our offerings to our customers, while giving Tivoli customers a level of control over the database environment that is not available from other enterprise management solutions."
Availability
The integration module to deploy Tivoli and DBArtisan will be available to DBArtisan customers from Embarcadero on or before the end of Q4 1998.
