Trial Version of Sierra Imaging's H/PC Imaging Software to be Bundled With HP Handheld PC; Image Expert CE Software to Ship with HP's Newest Handheld PCs

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 19, 1998--Sierra Imaging, Inc., the only company offering OEMs all the necessary components for digital still camera product success, today announced Hewlett-Packard Company's inclusion of a trial version of Image Expert(tm) CE with HP's just-announced HP Jornada Handheld PCs.

Image Expert is the first image acquisition, management and viewing application for Handheld PCs supporting Microsoft Windows CE, Handheld PC Professional Edition Software.

The product bundle allows HP's customers to organize, annotate and communicate digital still images using the HP Jornada 820 Handheld PC-the first product in HP's new line of Handheld PCs.

HP will be promoting the 30-day trial version of Image Expert with The HP Jornada 820 Handheld PC on-pack advertising for the next year. This gives Handheld PC users an opportunity to immediately experience a valuable new mobile computing application. Users can then purchase the full version of Image Expert directly from Sierra Imaging after the 30-day trial period expires.

Image Expert CE acts as the interface between your digital camera and the rest of the world. Together with a light-weight Handheld PC, Image Expert CE offers a truly mobile imaging solution allowing users to view JPEG images from a digital camera or any other source, annotate them with voice, ink or text and share them via email and IrDA. Image Expert CE users will also be able to automatically synchronize their H/PC's to the Windows 95/98/NT version of Image Expert.
