Centralized management
Configuring, distributing, installing, upgrading, and inventorying KEA! can be executed from one centralized location. The new Management Console presents opportunities for lowering the overhead of administration and, therefore, reducing total cost of ownership.
More productivity and automation features
KEA! 5.1 includes a utility to schedule KEA! macros at regular time intervals or off-peak hours. Routine file transfers no longer require user interaction. Users are able to save a file transfer list for repeated use, adding new convenience to KEA!'s File Shuttle utility -- a unique interface to create file transfer lists for bi-directional transfers between host and PC.
KEA! is also bundled with a collection of TPC/IP tools for the 32-bit Windows environment -- allowing easy file transfer through a point and click graphical interface. This enables other users to access files and printers on a PC via the personal File Transfer Protocol (FTP) server and personal print server (LPD).
Migration support
KEA! 5.1 continues to offer both 16- and 32-bit versions, including Windows 98 support, to allow customers to migrate platforms at their own pace. Windows NT drivers have also been added to support users of Digital LK450 and PowerStation keyboards.
Pricing and Availability
KEA! 420 has a US suggested retail price of $245 and KEA! 340 has a US suggested retail price of $395. Both are currently available from Attachmate resellers, retailers, and VARs, as well as through the Attachmate sales organization. Maintenance customers will automatically receive all feature upgrades free for a period of one year, including Euro support.
