Global Access Pagers Inc. to Introduce the First Wireless Data Card for Microsoft Windows CE Compatible Palmtop Computers

Business Wire, Oct 27, 1998

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 27, 1998--Global Access Pagers Inc. (OTC:GAPI) Board of Directors today announced plans to introduce the first pager in the CF card format that is Plug and Play(R) compatible with palmtop computers using the Microsoft(R) Windows(R) CE operating system.

The E CE(R) Pagercard was introduced at the PCIA Personal Communications Showcase in Orlando Sept. 23-25, booth no. 3417. Sales will begin pending the completion of FCC certification, which is expected by the end of the fourth quarter of 1998.

The E CE(R) Pagercard brings the World Wide Web, email and pager messaging to Palmtop computers, the fastest selling consumer product in the first quarter of 1998 with more than 500,000 units sold. E CE(R) Pagercard is designed to fit in the memory expansion (CF) slot of all Windows(R) CE compatible palmtop devices with Plug and Play(R) capability making it effortless to add wireless email, personal messaging and Internet downloads to any Windows CE(R) compatible device.

The E CE(R) CF Pagercard has two megabytes of built-in dual port flash memory. This allows it to receive over-the-air data and messaging without having the palmtop wake-up. It also acts a Memory Expansion Card for application operations and data storage for the palmtop. This creates a double value in E CE(R) Pagercard providing wireless connectivity and enhanced capabilities for Windows CE(TM) compatible computers such as the Everex Freestyle palm sized PC.

Global Access Pagers Inc. specializes in the design and manufacture of wireless products and pagers from its plant in Escondido, Calif. These products are marketed to more than 25,000 wireless retailers and service providers worldwide. GAPI also offers pre-paid calling card services and Internet Telephony equipment and service through its switches based in California and around the world.
