Nokia Display Products, Inc. Announces First Product Compliant with New TCO'99 Standard; NDPI's 447Xs First in Nokia Product Line to be TCO'99 Certified
Business Wire, Oct 30, 1998
SAUSALITO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 30, 1998--Nokia Display Products, Inc. is pleased to announce that its 17-inch 447Xs CRT display is the first in Nokia's product line to comply with the new stringent TCO'99 standard announced by TCO yesterday.
The new standard builds upon the existing TCO'95 guidelines, tightening demand on picture quality and controls, visual ergonomics and electromagnetic emissions. In addition, the new requirements call for a refresh rate of no less than 85Hz.
"Stricter demands for picture quality are some of the most important aspects of this upgrade," said John Grundy, NDPI's vice president of marketing. "The high usability requirements of TCO'99 echo the core values supporting Nokia's technological development. We're extremely pleased to have an immediate offering that meets these new quality and safety standards."
The 447Xs, available now, is also one of the first Nokia displays to meet ISO's newly proposed ergonomic standard 9241-5, offering an optimum line-of-sight for display viewing at 35-degrees below horizontal eye level. For the complete story see www.nokia.com/products/monitors/info/press.html
