GPS' Lotus Domino Solution Accelerates Return on Investment For
Key Corp's Asset Management Group
Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) today announced that its Global Professional Services (GPS) organization has won a "Best of Class" award in Groupware and Enterprise Support at the 1998 Internet Open for building a Lotus Domino application that has boosted return on investment for a unit of Key Corporation.
A Lotus Premium Business Partner, GPS won the award after an extensive competition that included more than 60 contestants in eight categories. Its solution netted the highest scores in nearly all evaluation categories including user experience, technical innovation and return-on-investment. Evaluation criteria included technical/business innovation, user-friendliness, user-efficiency, security/trust attributes, platform flexibility, visual impact, and cost-effectiveness/end-user business benefit impact.
"This award is evidence of the two most important attributes of CA's Global Professional Services organization -- peerless technical expertise and a clear ability to focus that expertise on the real-world business needs of our results-driven clientele," said Chris Wagner, executive vice president of GPS. "Considering the intense competition at this year's Internet Open, we are extremely pleased to be recognized with this honor."
The GPS built application rationalizes message creation and delivery for Key Asset Management, Inc., the investment advisory arm of Key Corp. It streamlines the approval process, provides a central store for corporate knowledge, and delivers the final documentation, literature and publications to the enterprise and to relevant business partners. This accelerates return-on-investment by shortening the production cycle, providing an efficient, low-cost delivery mechanism and improving productivity by closing the feedback loop. This in turn, provides fresh ideas and requirements documentation.
The Internet Open, a featured program of the Internet Commerce Expo (ICE) held recently in Los Angeles, offers solution providers with a forum to showcase their products and services in Internet Commerce, Intranet, and Extranet applications. Participants are then able to designate a Web-enabling or Web-based application or service category for "Best of Class" consideration and honors. Featuring on-site, on-line demonstrations, contestants in the Internet Open operated from "turnkey" demonstration booths designed and set up by ICE. A panel of more than 50 industry leaders, consultants, publication executives, and technology columnists served as judges, assigned to teams by application category.
GPS provides a complete range of expert consulting services, from strategic planning through implementation and evaluation. In addition to solution services including workgroup solutions, other areas of core competence include infrastructure implementation, electronic commerce solutions and packaged business solutions. GPS also provides a full range of CA product services.
