PICKSat Inc. Enters Strategic Alliance with Microsoft

MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 8, 1998--PICKSat Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of PICK Communications Corp.(OTCBB: PICK) today announced that it has entered into a strategic alliance with Microsoft Corporation. Microsoft(R) will provide software solutions to support PICKSat Inc.'s service offering. PICKSat Inc., www.picksat.net, specializes in the delivery of Internet and High-Speed Interactive Services via satellite.
This will be among the first satellite interactive platforms that will use the complete range of Microsoft's server software solutions including Windows NT(R) Server, Windows(R) Media Technologies and Microsoft Commercial Internet System. PICKSat Inc.'s alliance with Microsoft Corporation is a major step forward in making high-speed networks accessible from the desktop.

PICKSat will offer an "open" (non-proprietary) standard solution that will allow any company to have its own private or public satellite-based interactive multimedia network. Any type of multimedia and data service provider can host their technology or application at PICKSat's facility faster and at a fraction of the cost to build and operate their own network.
Earlier in the week, PICKSat announced a strategic partnership with Philips Digital Video Systems Company. They have already installed their CleverCast(TM) system at PICKSat Inc.'s Network Operations Center. The system is one of the most advanced end-to-end data broadcasting system solutions on the market today. PC users can receive satellite transmissions of digital data, TV, audio, high-speed internet, e-commerce and other multimedia applications.
Examples of services that can be delivered for companies using the PICKSat delivery platform include: High-Speed Internet, Digital Interactive Television, CD quality audio, and any other type of related high bandwidth, media rich content.
