Estes Inc. to Implement J.D. Edwards' OneWorld Nationwide; Leading ERP Vendor Extends Network-Centric ERP Package to the Genesis Channel
Business Wire, Oct 8, 1998
DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 8, 1998--Enterprise business software provider J.D. Edwards & Co. (Nasdaq:JDEC) today announced that Estes Inc., a wholesale distributor and retailer of agricultural chemicals, has joined a growing list of organizations with revenues of $100 million or less that will be using J.D. Edwards' OneWorld(tm) network-centric, multinational software package.
J.D. Edwards, a proven leader in the middle market, is extending its OneWorld solution to companies with revenues less than $100 million through its expanding channel program.
"J.D. Edwards recognizes that smaller companies have unique budgeting, technical support and implementation needs, and require flexibility and cost efficiency in their ERP solution," said Carl Farrell, director of J.D. Edwards' worldwide channel program.
"As a result, the company has partnered with solution providers like Sirius Computer Solutions to sell and implement J.D. Edwards' software packages to streamline its business processes and increase its competitive strengths. Estes Inc. is among numerous J.D. Edwards customers that will benefit from our strong commitment to the channel."
Estes Inc.
Founded in 1958, Estes Inc. is a family owned and operated wholesale distributor and retailer of pest control, lawn and ornamental, industrial, and agricultural chemicals. Estes will deploy J.D. Edwards' OneWorld foundation, distribution, financial and manufacturing suites at its headquarters in Wichita Falls, Texas, as well as in 15 additional offices across the United States, for approximately 120 users.
"We needed a flexible, scalable software solution that met our specific business needs," said Wendell Burnam, IT manager at Estes. "J.D. Edwards gives us the flexibility to configure OneWorld's distribution module specifically for the wholesale distribution market. This is critical to the success of our business and will enable us to compete with the larger corporations."
As Estes continues to expand, it will increasingly depend on J.D. Edwards' enterprise software solutions to maximize productivity and accommodate its growth strategy.
