Medeva Completes Sale of Hospital Products Business

LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 9, 1998--Medeva PLC (NYSE: MDV), the international pharmaceutical company, today announced the completion of the sale of its California-based hospital products business, International Medication Systems, Ltd. to Amphastar Pharmaceuticals Inc. This confirmation follows Medeva's August 20, 1998, initial announcement about this sale.

Medeva PLC is an international company developing, manufacturing, and marketing prescription pharmaceutical products in the following main therapeutic areas: respiratory care, vaccines, CNS therapies (attention deficit disorder and anti-obesity), gastroenterology hospital products (pain management and anaesthetics) and dermatology.
