Mitsubishi Electronics Announces Feature-Driven 1200 ANSI Lumen XGA LCD Projector; X200 Designed For Professional Presenters With High-performance Demands
Business Wire, Sept 1, 1998
CYPRESS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 1, 1998--Mitsubishi Electronics America Inc., creator of the industry's broadest line of award-winning monitor and projection products, Tuesday announced the newest addition to its presentation product line, the X200 LCD projector.
With an onboard arsenal of high-performance presentation tools and retailing for only $11,995, the X200 has been engineered for today's most aggressive, value-driven and demanding presentation professionals.
"Major manufacturers have leveled the playing field for the selection of presentation projectors with regard to brightness and portability," said Phil Callahan, sales and marketing manager for Mitsubishi's projector line.
"Now, the most competitive of our customers are looking for projection devices to help them gain the edge in presentation situations and are insisting upon additional capabilities in the meeting room. The X200 was built for that customer."
Professional Presentation Features
The X200 contains the industry's most innovative and powerful selection of presentation technologies. Each feature was designed by Mitsubishi to answer a need defined by today's competitive market place.
Picture-in-Picture -- Any two input sourced images, such as text and video, may be displayed simultaneously. The window is movable and sizeable. A split-screen feature allows two different images to share equal screen size for compelling, creative and dynamic presentations.
Dual PC Card Input Slots -- Two PCMCIA card slots allow for computer-free presentations and low-cost field force automation. An automatic and continuous PC card playback system facilitates impressive and easy-to-build and easy-to-run tradeshow or conference programs. The PC card slots are also ideal for immediate display of images from digital cameras equipped with PC cards.
Variable Digital Zoom -- As projector brightness technology enables greater audience capacity, the X200 now allows the presenter to reach even the person in the farthest corners of the room with even the smallest of details. The zoom feature selects and digitally enlarges image areas, such as spreadsheets or intricate CAD/CAM schematics, for full-screen display or Picture-in-Picture viewing.
Space Pointer Remote -- The X200's wireless remote control provides for efficient and mobile manipulation of the presentation. All feature options are accessible from the remote and the newest wireless technology allows for live, on-screen annotation and highlighting in a selection of seven different colors.
Gamma Correction -- For the professional presenter or trainer with workstation applications or in industries such as pre-press, medical or advertising, where color matching is critical, the X200 has on-screen gamma correction. A simple-to-operate selection of separate RGB color bars and an onboard memory cache allow the end-user to adjust and save color-matched profiles inside the projector itself.
Specifications
Weighing only 20 pounds and blasting a full 1200 ANSI lumens, the feature-rich X200 uses three polysilicon active-matrix LCD panels to produce an XGA resolution of 1024 x 768, or a compressed resolution of 1280 x 1024. A user-changeable, 330-watt metal-halide lamp provides brilliant projected images ranging from 20 to 300 inches. The X200 also boasts a horizontal scanning range from 15 to 85 kHz and a contrast ratio of greater than 250:1.
The X200 is crafted for quick and easy set-up and can be carried to any presentation venue or conveniently installed for front, rear or ceiling mount utilization. Additional features include worldwide voltage sensing, electronic keystone correction from two to 16 degrees, and an RS232C serial port.
The X200 provides accurate high-resolution images from a variety of video formats, including RGB, S-VHS, NTSC, NTSC 4.43, PAL, and SECAM, as well as Apple(R), IBM(R), and many workstation computer graphics standards. The new projector is also backed by a three-year Emergency Roadside Assistance (ERA) Program, providing a three-year parts and labor warranty, a 30-day warranty on the light source, 7-day, toll-free support and a 3-year guaranteed free replacement projector shipped overnight for next business day delivery.
