Complete Business Solutions Inc., CBSI, Launches Major Intranet/Extranet Java Application for Ford Motor Company's Global Dimensional Control Division
Business Wire, Sept 1, 1998
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 1, 1998--Complete Business Solutions Inc. (NASDAQ:CBSI) announced the successful launch of a major intranet/extranet Java application for Ford's Global Dimensional Control Division (GDCD) to manage operations related to the structural preproduction of vehicles.
The new system, called DocuTrak, was designed and developed by CBSI for Ford GDCD to connect over 50 suppliers and track progress of CAD drawing revisions.
"Before DocuTrak, revision reports were often late, inconsistent and an immense task to manage. This web application allows Ford GDCD to print reports in real-time and gives all Ford groups and suppliers the ability to access and update information as required," said Sreedhar Kajeepeta, director of the Consulting Group for CBSI.
"We are working with more customers like Ford GDCD who wish to integrate diverse systems across many user groups and quickly grab the information they need from anywhere. Web technology enables customers to generate meaningful information quickly and allows them to make more effective decisions throughout the organization," he said.
Gena Lodolo, vice president of Sales and Marketing for the company, said that CBSI has a unique process and methodology for this work that has proven effective for clients in the automotive sector as well as in manufacturing, energy, transportation, marketing and technology companies.
