Trimark Pictures Strikes a Distribution Deal With Kings Road Entertainment

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 10, 1998--Trimark Pictures and Kings Road Entertainment (Nasdaq:KREN) Thursday announced that they have struck a distribution deal.

In the deal, Trimark has acquired U.S., Canadian (including French Canadian), home video and DVD rights to a portion of Kings Road's library. The deal was struck between Trimark Senior Vice President Business Affairs and Acquisitions Peter Block and Kings Road Senior Vice President Chris Trunkey.

"Kings Road has produced a number of quality pictures with tremendous commercial appeal," said Block. "We look forward to a successful business relationship."

"Trimark is a great home for these pictures," said Trunkey. "They can give these films the attention they need for continued success in the video market."

The titles that Trimark will distribute are packed with some of Hollywood's biggest stars. The list includes "The Big Easy," starring Dennis Quaid ("The Parent Trap," "Something to Talk About," "Dragonheart") and Ellen Barkin ("Diner," "Sea of Love," "Wild Bill"); "All of Me," starring Steve Martin ("Sgt. Bilko," "Father of the Bride," "Father of the Bride II") and Lily Tomlin ("Getting Away With Murder," "The Beverly Hillbillies); "Touch and Go," starring Michael Keaton ("Out of Sight," "Jackie Brown," "Multiplicity"); "Creator," starring Peter O'Toole ("Phantoms," "FairyTale: A True Story") and Mariel Hemingway ("Deconstructing Harry," "Little Men"); and "Best of Times," starring Robin Williams ("Good Will Hunting," "Flubber," "Deconstructing Harry") and Kurt Russell ("Breakdown," "Executive Decision," "Unlawful Entry").

Other titles included in the deal are "Jacknife," starring Robert De Niro ("Great Expectations," "Jackie Brown," "Wag the Dog"), and "Kickboxer," starring Jean Claude Van Damme ("Sudden Death," "Timecop," "Universal Soldier").

Trimark Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq/NM:TRMK) is a broad-based entertainment company that acquires, produces and distributes motion pictures domestically and internationally under the Trimark Pictures banner; licenses to the broadcast industry under the Trimark Television moniker; and distributes to the domestic home video market under the Trimark Home Video label.

Kings Road Entertainment was founded in 1984 as an independent production company. Based in Los Angeles, the company produces theatrical, direct-to-video and cable motion pictures.
