Entire Line Now Boasts Component Video Input
Sharp Electronics Corporation, the world leader in LCD technology and home theater front projection, today announced the introduction of its XV-C10U portable video projector.
Designed to replace the XV-P15U, it offers additional high performance features in a much smaller, portable size.
The addition of a Component Video Input makes the XV-C10 ideal for use with high-end DVD players and compatible with DTV decoders, and means the entire line-up of Sharp Vision projectors now offers Component Video Input. Component Video is a high performance, professional quality signal that greatly reduces interference and improves picture quality by splitting the signal over three separate video cables. As such, it is expected to replace S-Video as the recommended video signal in high-end home theater video components.
The XV-C10U is an optimal consumer choice for video projection because of a multitude of features that provide excellent imaging results in a home theater environment. For example, the XV-C10U features improved video resolution over the XV-P15U (360 scan doubled TV lines vs. 350 lines), along with a built-in depixelization filter for a smoother video image, more closely resembling that of film.
Because it features an even more compact design than the XV-P15U and is considerably lighter in weight, consumers will find this unit to be the perfect home theater solution for environments where a limited amount of space or portability is a concern, such as small apartments, finished basements, vacation homes, RV campers and boats. In addition, table-top and bookcase or high-shelf mounting of the unit can be done securely through threaded screw holes underneath the projector, which is of key importance for home theater applications in RVs, boats, or showroom displays.
The XV-C10U weighs five pounds less than the XV-P15U, at a mere 8.6 lbs, and is also smaller, measuring in at 12.2"W x 12.5"D x 4.9"H. Its portability is made even easier, owing to the built-in carry handle found on the bottom of the unit.
Additional features include compatibility with NTSC, PAL and SECAM video systems, increased brightness (approximately 80 ANSI Lumens), a lens shift function for vertical adjustment of the image to reduce keystoning, two stereo audio inputs, two video inputs (Composite Video, S-video and Component Video), built-in audio system, headphone jack (3.5mm stereo mini type), automatic power-off timer, sleep timer, and wireless remote.
Scheduled for delivery in September, the XV-C10U has a suggested list price of $1,995.
