Business Wire, Sept 17, 1998
MOBILE, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 17, 1998--
Hospitality Group to Open New Extended Stay Hotel
SuiteOne(tm) of Mobile, a division of Southeastern Hospitality Holdings, Inc. of Norcross, GA., today announced the opening of the second in a series of extended stay hotels.
Groundbreaking for the 90-unit hotel is September 21, 1998, with a scheduled opening date set for May 1999. The hotel will be located off of Interstate 10 in Tillman's Corner, according to Matthew I. Cooper, Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Southeastern Hospitality Holdings.
"Mobile is an ideal market for our product," said Cooper. "The extended stay market relies on transient workers such as seasonal employees, transfers, contract laborers and construction workers, and our two-year research study has shown a high demand for extended stay hotels in this area."
Pate Design Group, Inc. of Duluth, GA, has designed the 45,000 square foot, residentially attractive, three-story building. Each suite averages over 300 square feet of living area that includes a kitchenette, bedroom, dining area and full-bath. The hotel will be centrally located to all businesses in Mobile and Pascagula., MS.
SuiteOne(tm) of Mobile will differentiate itself from its competitors with the following:
-- 24-hour on-site management - SuiteOne(TM) will keep a
staff member in the reception area round-the-clock to
serve the guest and to maintain security.
-- Video cameras installed to monitor the property and to
address any security concerns.
-- Select units will offer adjoining doors for families and
groups.
-- 75% of the suites will have the most popular, queen-size
beds.
-- Upgraded brick and "hardy-plank" siding.
SuiteOne(tm) of Mobile will offer rooms on a weekly basis ranging in price from $189 to $209. Development costs are targeted at $3,000,000.
Southeastern Hospitality Holdings, Inc., is a privately held company formed to meet the challenge of the demand for extended stay product. The board of directors includes Andrew J. Pace, president, and Michael Pace, CEO. SuiteOne(tm) plans to develop its product throughout the southeast in 1998 and 1999. SuiteOne(tm) of Gwinnett will open on December 31, 1998 in Norcross, GA, and the company plans to expand to Columbia, SC in 1999.
