Computer Associates Augments CA's Commitment To Notes/Domino Market With Acquisition Of QXCOM

ISLANDIA, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 2, 1998--Increasing its commitment to the Lotus Notes/Domino market, Computer Associates International, Inc., (CA) today announced the acquisition of privately-held QXCOM, Inc., one of the leading software providers for the Notes market. Financial terms were not disclosed.

QXCOM has been a market leader since the 1989 introduction of Notes -- providing both consulting and software products to many of the world's largest and most sophisticated Notes and Domino installations in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. The company grew out of a strategic reorganization of Distributed Systems Solutions International, Inc. (DSSI), one of the pioneer Lotus Business Partners.

CA will continue to license and support all QXCOM QX/Tools products, a group of 11 advanced solutions which assist in the security and application database administration of large-scale, distributed Notes and Domino networks. Leading products include ACL/Reporter, Registration/Exchange, and Mail/Utilities.

The QXCOM software will also augment The Unicenter TNG Lotus Notes/Domino Option, which enables customers to maximize application performance and avoid downtime by closely monitoring the full range of components and processes required to support Notes-based applications, including network and systems availability, database replication and virus protection.

The announcement also complements CA's recent acquisition of REALOGIC, Inc., a leading international business and technology-consulting firm with a core competence in Lotus and Lotus Notes technologies.

This enhanced portfolio of products and services will allow CA to address virtually all Notes/Domino management and administrative needs.
