Davie Industries: Dominion Bridge Management Requests an Emergency Meeting With Quebec Premier

MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 2, 1998--(NASDAQ:DBCQE) (VSE:DMO.U.) Management of Dominion Bridge Corporation (Dominion Bridge) (NASDAQ: DBCQE) has learned that the Governement of Quebec had rejected the financial restructuring plan for the Amethyst project, being conducted by its subsidiary Davie Industries.
Management of Dominion Bridge has requested an emergency meeting with Premier Lucien Bouchard and Deputy Premier Bernard Landry.
For the time being, the Company will make no other comment. Founded in 1879, Dominion Bridge operates in international engineering and infrastructure markets. Dominion Bridge Corporation's main subsidiaries are Dominion Bridge Inc., Steen Contractors Ltd., Becker Contractors Ltd., Industries Davie Inc. and McConnell Dowell Corporation of Australia.
