Business Wire, Sept 22, 1998

BOISE, Idaho--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 22, 1998--Micron Internet Services, a division of Micron Technology, Inc., today announced the addition of a Web Media team to their existing Internet services. Micron Internet Services recently gained employees from Omega Design, a Boise-based, multimedia design house, to initiate this new business unit. The addition of Omega Design's talented personnel, coupled with Micron's existing resources, establishes a strong Web Media team comprised of site designers, graphic artists, technical writers, and programmers talented in online media presentation. The team will focus on delivering high-quality, functional Web sites for customers worldwide.

"The Omega Design team is a key component of the Web Media business unit at Micron Internet Services," said Todd Chavez, marketing manager for Micron Internet Services. "Their talents, as demonstrated by their experience and customer portfolio, enable Micron to deliver high-quality, business-focused, Web sites for customers in a timely and cost-effective manner," added Chavez. With the addition of Web creation services, Micron now provides a single source for customers seeking a Web presence.

Micron's Web Media team consists of Web page designers, graphic artists, and technical writers. The division's programming services team provides additional site creation support. Chavez explained, "Site designers, graphic artists, technical writers, and programmers all contribute in producing Web sites that are easy to navigate, look sharp, and read well; providing true utility for the viewer as well as the business itself. This combination of talent really makes Web sites `come alive.'"

Complimenting the services provided by the new Web Media team, Micron hosts customer Web sites via state-of-the-art server facilities housed at Micron Technology's Boise campus. Chavez noted, "A Web site's physical hosting environment is often over looked by businesses seeking Web hosting services. Our service is provided with 24-hour-a-day monitoring, dual power feeds from Idaho Power as well as emergency power facilities, and multiple high-bandwidth connections to the Internet via Sprint, Cable & Wireless (formally MCI) and UUNet WorldCom." Micron offers site hosting using either the Microsoft IIS on NT or Netscape on Sun Solaris platforms.

Varying levels of Web site hosting options are available, ranging from personal interest Web sites to those for large national and international corporations.
