Intertop Supports the IBM Network Station with Its Internet Application Platform; ISV Offers an Integrated Multi-Tier Java Application Platform
Business Wire, Sept 23, 1998
SARATOGA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 23, 1998--Intertop Corporation, an emerging leader of Internet application solutions that enable businesses to develop and deploy fast, efficient business applications over the Internet, today announced that Intertop Application Platform supports IBM's family of Network Stations.
Intertop Application Platform offers concurrent development and deployment of both the client and server sides of a Java application. The small footprint "smart clients" run well on both the Network Station Series 300 and Series 1000 and is ideally suited for Internet environments.
"Intertop's intelligent allocation of application logic translates into improved response times on the client side, while lowering costs related to network and server infrastructure," said Dr. Dave McAughtry, vice president of worldwide marketing for IBM's Network Computer Division.
"Intertop's enabling technology allows IBM's Network Station customers to realize the full benefits of network computing by having access to interactive Java business applications."
The Intertop Application Platform includes Intertop Application Server and the award-winning development environment, i-Xpresso. Internet Application Server is a high-performance, multi-threaded application server for serving client applications and connecting to databases and legacy systems.
i-Xpresso provides an advanced development environment that allows any developer to build very small footprint applications for fast transmission over any connection, whereby applications can run in any browser on any platform, including the IBM thin client, Network Station.
"We are pleased to support IBM's Network Station," said Thomas Li, president and cofounder, Intertop Corporation. IBM's Network Computing platform and Intertop Application Platform bring all the benefits of client/server computing to multi-tier Internet applications. The result? Internet applications that offer IBM customers real business value."
