Stockholders of Atria Communities Approve Merger

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 8, 1998--Atria Communities, Inc. (Nasdaq/NM: ATRC) today announced that stockholders have approved the previously announced agreement under which Kapson Senior Quarters Corp., an affiliate of Lazard Freres Real Estate Investors L.L.C., will acquire approximately 88% of the common stock of Atria. Closing of the merger is expected to be completed within five business days.
Atria, based in Louisville, Kentucky, is a leading national provider of assisted and independent living services for the elderly.
