Micrografx Inc. Announces Total Focus on Enterprise Products with Assignment of Consumer Software Titles; Agreement Represents the Company's Exit From Consumer Marketplace

RICHARDSON, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 8, 1998--Micrografx Inc. (NASDAQ:MGXI), a global leader in corporate graphics, process management and network design software, today announced the Company's exit from the consumer marketplace with the assignment of its rights to the award-winning American Greetings(R) (NYSE:AG) CreataCard(R) Gold and CreataCard(R) Plus. Software titles were assigned to Massachusetts-based The Learning Company(R) Inc. (NYSE:TLC).
Effective immediately, the assignment of rights to The Learning Company concludes all contractual responsibilities and settles all contractual issues between Micrografx and American Greetings. It does not represent any material impact to Micrografx beyond the value previously reported in the agreements between Micrografx and Cendant Software.
