Teamstudio Configurator Upgraded for Better Search and Replace in Lotus Notes and Domino Databases
Business Wire, Sept 8, 1998
MARBLEHEAD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 8, 1998 Ives Development, Inc. today launched the latest version of TeamStudio Configurator, a global search and replace tool for Lotus Notes and Domino databases.
TeamStudio Configurator, the first global search and replace tool for Notes and Domino, helps developers search for any string within the database design (including formula code, LotusScript, static text on forms or sub-forms, etc.) and change it throughout the design. This latest version of the tool will also search and replace strings anywhere in documents as well as the database design.
"Using TeamStudio Configurator, I was able to quickly and accurately complete a huge task in a small amount of time. I was able to change whole and partial words in an instant. My code is now more readable and agrees with what is on the form designs. This would have been nearly impossible to do manually." Steven Rieger, Groupware Technology Leader, Precision Systems Concepts
By selecting a Notes or Domino database on their workspace and clicking the Configurator smart icon, a Configurator user begins search and replacing text. Configurator search and replace features include:
-- Count of text string matches found,
-- Single occurance or global replace,
-- Contextual reference for match with color syntax highlighting,
-- Graphical display search matches in forms, subforms and navigators,
-- Detailed log of design elements and text that has been changed,
-- Ability to search and replace whole word, accent or case.
TeamStudio Configurator uses only approved Lotus Notes API calls to interact with the database design. The standard Notes security model is preserved; only developers with Designer access to the target database can make changes. Similarly, if the design of a database is hidden, then search and replace cannot be performed on the design.
TeamStudio Configurator helps Notes developers, for the first time, to build truly configurable Notes-based applications, which do not suffer any run-time performance penalty. Highly configurable, fast and robust Notes applications can be built by carefully selecting and identifying configurable text strings.
"The new release of Configurator is a big step forward in global search and replace,"said Nigel Cheshire, CEO of Ives Development, Inc. "Configurator now provides full contextual information for each change. Notes developers now have the option to search and replace in data as well as in the design."
TeamStudio Configurator is priced at $475.00, which includes one year's maintenance and unlimited technical support. All TeamStudio Design System tools have a 30-day money back guarantee.
